We believe that it’s the size, shape, function and flow of the hardscape component that should be designed first. Once you are happy with that, we suggest the materials that are appropriate for your style and budget. In most cases, you will be offered a few options to choose from and we’ll assist you in pulling together the look that’s right for you.
Here you’ll see many types of masonry using brick, stacked stone, river rock and flagstone. We can provide colored, stamped and patterned concrete. Stained concrete is a lower cost option that will still provide color and interest. If your budget can’t handle masonry, we have several types of gravel to choose from. The colors and textures blend well with other components but most important, we work with gravel that is easy to walk on, dog friendly and that leaves will easily blow off of. Some of our choices also work for patios where furniture use is an important consideration.
In case you’re wondering, “ Hardscape “ is the term used for everything in the landscape that’s not plants. Driveways, gated entrances, courtyards, patios, decks, walkways, paths, walls, steps, and swimming pools are the most noticeable. Drainage solutions usually aren’t obvious but a vital part of each successful design. We designed and built just about everything you see in our photos.
We do comprehensive design. We are not only designing and selling you a deck, patio, pool or other hardscape. We are addressing how one or all components work together with your entire back yard and lifestyle. We think ahead about transition, flow and integration with your house and every garden room in your landscape. We think about shade, views, privacy and drainage, too. We ensure it will look pretty and be sized to accommodate the number of people and type of furniture that you like.
